Share your Apps!

With our freshly released Android version 1.75, you can now share your Apps with a flick of your wrist:

The receiver of your app will be redirected to the Android Market where the App can be downloaded. Additionally, you can transfer the App itself if you have the *.apk file on your sd card by sharing via a file manager:

Reenabled Old Web Client

We used to have a prematured Hoccer Web Client on our old page which had been turned off while migrating to our new system. Due to high user demands we decided to make this old variant available again as long as we are working a fresh and much better version.

It’s now possible to hoc files between Desktop and Mobile again. Old is better than nothing. Here is how it works:

Using the Legacy Web Client

Of course you need an other device doing the counterpart gesture on the same location to transfer the data.

Incredible Speed Up

On of the advantages about starting anew are the people joining the project with fresh ideas. As it happend, we where talking about our servers need to do this and that for file transfer to work as expected. We where suprised to discover that one of our main constraints could be lifted if we change our engeneering point of view a little. After some hard work we could reap this sweet and juicy fruit by deploying a new server version, eventually.

Linking time between devices is now down to zero. When transfering small files this benefit is huge. You get the content displayed almost instantly. As we can see in our statistics people like this as much as we do. Happy hoccing!

Website Relaunched

We are glad to finally present our new website to you. It was about time to adapt our online presence to the latest events and start using HTML5 technology.

Unfortunately the Hoccer Web Client is still in rework, but we’re on it.

New Office

Our day started with setting up tables and plugging computers: We are happy to announce our new address at Molkenmarkt 2, Berlin, Germany.

From now on, the Hoccer team operates from it’s own offce. As before at ART+COM, we keep doing Agile Development using a Kanban board and Extreme Programming techniques to get the most out of the day.

Hoccer App needs access to your “Personal Informations”

Sometimes Android users ask us “Why does Hoccer needs access to my Personal Infromations?”. Remember that Android has a fine grained set of permissions and any user needs to accept the special needs of an App prior to installation. Hoccer needs a very big bunch of permissions to work properly. Of course this includes internet access and location informations. But also Hoccer must have access to your contact list and browser history to throw and catch these kind of items.

We do not read your data to store or sell them. Our App just needs these permissions on Android to integrate well with the system and other installed applications. Our iPhone version does the same stuff — but Apple allows by default all applications in the AppStore to access contacts and bookmarks.
