A nice new feature in the latest Hoccer iPhone Client is the ability to open files in other apps. You can now catch all kinds of files like pdfs or zips. Hoccer offers an “Open in” option. Like in Mail this opens a menu, from which you can select an app to open the file.

This feature is especially handy with the hoccer webclient. For example, it is a fast way to transfer an eBook from your computer to the iBooks app on your iPhone without needing a wire (see our post about the webclient).

As mentioned before this release also removes the ads from Hoccer.

The new version is now available at the app store.

We decided to remove all advertisements from our Hoccer clients. Because user experience is so important to us, we only showed Ad’s in the History before. They’ve never been in the way when doing actual sharing but nonetheless made us uneasy. We are very happy to announce that you will not longer be disturbed by Ad Mob’s blinking and colorful banners when using our App. The Android Version 1.78 is already available in the Market. Unfortunately iOS users still need to wait until Apple approved our Ad-free update.
